About OpenGlob Rooms

OpenGlob Rooms is a private, real-time conversation space designed for focused discussions that require immediate clarity without long-term digital noise. Engineered for high-stakes decision-making and rapid idea exchange, Rooms provides a contained environment that exists for the duration of a conversation and then steps aside.

Unlike traditional platforms that accumulate years of searchable archives, Rooms is intentionally lightweight. It operates on a "zero-persistence" philosophy: once a session ends, the room and its history are not maintained as a permanent database.

Core Features & Interactive Tools

OpenGlob Rooms integrates a suite of professional collaboration tools designed to facilitate structured interaction within a minimal interface.

1. Breakout Rooms

Hosts can transition a large group into smaller, focused sub-sessions.
* Dynamic Assignment: Hosts can manually assign participants to specific rooms or use the "Shuffle" feature for randomized distribution.
* Global Timer: Breakout sessions are governed by a synchronized timer (up to 40 minutes), after which participants are automatically returned to the main room.
* Host Request System: Participants in sub-rooms can "Request Help," sending an instant notification to the host in the main room.

2. Interactive Cards

For topics that require deeper focus, users can send "Cards" instead of standard text.
* Structured Content: Cards include a dedicated title and description field to highlight specific proposals or questions.
* Threaded Discussions: Each card supports its own nested "Discussion" thread, keeping secondary chatter organized and away from the main feed.
* Upvoting: Participants can upvote cards to signal agreement or prioritize topics.

3. Live Polling

Gather instant feedback with integrated polls.
* Flexible Formatting: Supports both single-choice and multiple-answer formats.
* Real-time Results: Visual progress bars update instantly as votes are cast.
* Moderated Closure: Polls can be ended by either the creator or the room host to finalize results.

Host Controls & Moderation

Every room is managed by a host who maintains absolute authority over the environment to ensure a productive and safe discussion.

  • Access Management: Hosts can toggle between "Open Access" (anyone with the link can join) and "Trusted Access" (new participants must be admitted from a waiting room).
  • Participant Governance: Hosts have the immediate ability to "Kick" participants or "Ban" them to prevent re-entry during the same session.
  • History Privacy: Hosts can decide if late joiners are permitted to see the conversation history that occurred before they entered.
  • Session Termination: Only the host can end the room for all participants, which instantly wipes the active session memory.

Plan Limits & Accessibility

OpenGlob Rooms currently provides complimentary access through two primary tiers. These limits are designed to ensure service stability during the public rollout phase.

Professional Solutions (Introducing Soon)

For organizations and advanced creators requiring higher capacity and extended sessions, we will soon introduce professional tiers:

  • Plus: Designed for growing teams with support for up to 60 participants and 150-minute sessions.
  • Team: Optimized for large departments with 100-participant capacity and 8-hour session durations.
  • Education: Built for the classroom, offering up to 120 participants and specialized limits for academic schedules.

Privacy & Security Architecture

OpenGlob Rooms is built on the principle that conversations should feel present, not permanent.

  • Temporary Logic: Messages are maintained only for the duration of the active session to support real-time continuity.
  • End-to-End Encryption: Users who sign in with an OpenGlob account benefit from enhanced encryption protocols.
  • No Data Harvesting: Operational data exists only temporarily to support moderation and reliability; Rooms is not an archival system.
  • Link Safety: The platform includes a "Suspicious Link" detection system that warns users before they navigate to external, untrusted websites.
