This article explains how signing in and account access currently work on Lokly.

Signing in to Lokly

Lokly currently supports passwordless sign in using a one-time verification code sent to your email address.

To continue:
1. Enter your email address
2. Verify the code sent to your inbox
3. Complete onboarding if you are a new user

Verification codes automatically expire after a short period of time for security purposes.

Creating your account

During onboarding, Lokly may ask for:
- username
- display name
- area information
- optional profile photo

Some profile details may vary depending on your region, account type, or app version.

Lokly currently focuses on hyperlocal communities and selected areas. Availability may expand over time as the platform evolves.

Username availability

Usernames must be unique and follow platform rules.

Certain usernames may be unavailable if they:
- are already registered
- impersonate individuals or organizations
- contain restricted or misleading terms
- violate Community Guidelines

Session and login security

For account safety:
- login sessions may expire automatically
- suspicious activity may trigger temporary restrictions
- repeated abuse or spam behavior may limit account access

Avoid sharing verification codes or using unofficial third-party tools with your account.

Supported sign-in methods

Lokly currently supports:
- email verification code sign in

Additional sign-in methods may become available in future versions, including supported single sign-on providers and platform integrations.

Profile access and visibility

Your profile may include:
- posts
- area information
- followers and following
- public account details

Some features and profile elements may vary depending on account status, subscriptions, or platform rollout stages.

Restricted or unavailable accounts

Accounts may become temporarily unavailable due to:
- spam activity
- suspicious behavior
- impersonation
- repeated policy violations
- platform safety enforcement

Some restrictions may be automatic to protect the platform and nearby communities.
